Spring Energized PTFE Seals
  • Spring Energized PTFE Seals
  • The Spring Energized PTFE Seals are recommended for sealing in extreme operating conditions of temperature, speed and chemical. It consists of a PTFE U-shaped profile ring energized by a finger spring. The finger spring can be a stainless steel V-spring or canted coil spring. The Spring Energized PTFE Seal design is such that the lip will be pushed against the sealing surface at low pressure and also at high pressure.

Description

Advantage:

l   very low friction and will not seize after long period of unuse when installed in a hydraulic system

l   chemical resistant

l   wide operating temperature range

l   wide operating pressure from vacuum up to 200bar

l   operating speed up to 10 m/s

l   can be used to seal gases

l   can replace O-rings

Material:
Jacket Material: Pure PTFE, PTFE Carbon, PTFE Graphite, PTFE Bronze or PTFE Glass. Also available in PEEK, UHMW, ETFE.
Metal Spring Material: SS301; SS316; Elgiloy; C276.
Applications:

Typical applications of Spring-energized PTFE Seals are in oil and gasvalve, defense and aerospace, low temperature application, medical equipment, and sealing systems that demand extreme chemical resistant. We can alsospecially design it to be used for sterilization, clean-rooms and ultra-high vacuum purposes.

Types:
